International Activities
1. Activity title mentioning the international dimension-Who I want when I grow up?
Brief Description- The activity aims to make connections between community helpers and the roles they play. It helps them to imagine how life would be different without these helpers and identify positive qualities in the community helpers.
Learning Outcomes- By the end of the activity students will be able to:
Knowledge- Gain understanding about various community helpers.
Skills- Evaluate and analyse the role community helpers play.
Attitudes- Appreciate positive qualities in community helpers.
Brief and clear description of Activity that will help in attaining the projected learning outcomes:
* The teacher conducts brainstorm sessions on who our helpers are in the community through various Flash Card activities.Teachers explain about various Community Helpers through Power Point Presentation (PPT)Slides .
* “Helpers Talk” is organized in the school where people from different walks of life are invited to come and interact with the students.
* Students express their opinions on which helper they want to be when they grow.
* Fancy Dress Competition- on the theme ‘Who do I want to be when I grow up? is organized.
* A Holiday Homework is given on Community Helpers where students will be preparing Scrap Books during their Summer Holidays.

2. Activity title mentioning the international dimension- International Peace Day
Brief Description– The activity aims to realise that conflict anywhere in the world is bound to affect us either directly or indirectly and ensure that there are traditional ways in which peace is celebrated around the world.
Learning Outcomes- By the end of the activity students will be able to:
Knowledge- Gain understanding about various conflicts around the world.
Skills- Evaluate and analyse top causes of the conflicts in the modern world.
Attitudes- Appreciate different ways in which peace can be maintained.
Brief and clear description of Activity that will help in attaining the projected learning outcomes:
* Students are informed at least a week in advance about World Peace Day and they will brainstorm the ideas to celebrate World Peace Day in the school
* Selected videos of refugee camps are shown to students. Students do research about the various conflicts and analyse the data and demarcate it and suggest the ways to resolve such conflicts.
* School is conducting a Poster Making Competition and students will express their opinions about the Refugee Camps.
* Students are sending messages for the refugees through their letters in Refugee Camps in Germany, Syria, Turkey and Bangladesh.

3. Activity title mentioning the international dimension- International Book Festival
Brief Description- The activity aims to develop learners’ interaction with their peers and generate interest in the area of literature or country which they will present and appreciate the diversity and the richness in literature from different countries.
Learning Outcomes- By the end of the activity students will be able to:
Knowledge- Understand and appreciate the diversity and the richness in literature from different countries.
Skills- Evaluate and analyse literature and popular stories around the world.
Attitudes- Appreciate the cultural and socio-political environment of a country through literature.
Brief and clear description of Activity that will help in attaining the projected learning outcomes:
* Special Assembly on International Book Day is observed. School invites Subject Expert and s/he starts a brainstorm session about various genres of literature. Students are shown various documentaries about various literature festivals.
* Students study the author of their choice and critically appreciate their works.
* Students collaborate and review any one author of their choice and any one work from his/her collection and present it to their classmates. Then the Skype session is arranged with Partner School where students exchange their Reviews.
* Students plan and organize a book fair in the school.

4. Activity title mentioning the international dimension- Cultural Box Exchange
Brief Description- The activity aims to develop learners’ interaction with their peers and generate interest about the culture of different countries.
Learning Outcomes- By the end of the activity students will be able to:
Knowledge- Understand and appreciate the cultures of various countries.
Skills- Evaluate and analyse cultural aspects of the countries around the world.
Attitudes- Appreciate the cultural environment of a country through the cultural box exchange.
Brief and clear description of Activity that will help in attaining the projected learning outcomes:
* Teachers start the brainstorm session by showing the Power Point Presentation of partner countries for the collaboration.
* A Cultural Awareness Quiz is organised in the school regarding the culture of partner countries.
* Students prepare the Cultural box to be sent to the schools of partner countries. Students prepare the traditional clothes, cuisine, home-made biscuits, noodles, Rangoli Patterns, Hindi Alphabets, Diwali Pack, Puppets of historical characters.
* Then the Skype session is arranged with Partner School where students exchange their Reviews.
